Day 1: Arrival at Kigali airport, explore Kigali
Upon arrival at Kigali airport, you will be picked by one of our representative; Take up a city tour of Kigali including a visit to the Genocide Memorial site a grim reminder of a senseless massacre of innocent’s lives in 1994, Afterward you will be transferred to your Hotel.
Day 2: To Virunga National Park.
The driver will take you to Bukavu harbor where you will board the express boat back to Goma. On arrival in Goma you will go on a small city tour to see the old cathedral ruined by the latest eruption of the Nyiragongo volcano. You can still see how close the lava came to the city. There is a volcanic observatory in Goma to monitor especially the Nyiragongo volcano. The driver of Virunga national park will be waiting to take you to Virunga National park.
Day 3: Mountain Gorilla tracking in Virunga National Park.
Early morning transfer to Virunga National Park, the oldest national park in Africa where you be briefed before you enter the forest to search for the Gorillas with the help of our guide. Stay with the Gorillas for the maximum of one hour and then return to your Hotel for lunch, relax as you wait for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Climbing the Nyiragongo Volcano
After breakfast, drive to Nyiragongo Volcano and climbs one of the most active volcanoes in Africa. It is noted for its long active lava lakes which appears in the summit crater. Nyiragongo is one of eight volcanoes in the Virunga Mountains. The volcano is located near the town of Goma All the day we climb and camp on the top to admire the lava of active Volcano.
Day 5: Relaxing at Tchegera Island
Today you will have a full day to sit back and do nothing. For those who want a bit more adventure, there is a chance to swim in the waters of Lake Kivu, or even snorkel or canoe around the island.
Day 6: relaxing, airport transfer to Kigali, end of tour
A gentle start to the day, prior to your transfer back to Kigali. From here you will transfer to the airport in time for your international flight back home.
